Dungarpur, Rajasthan: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Dungarpur has arrested Abhimanyu Kumar Singh, a bank manager at Metali Rajasthan Gramin Bank, and his associate Bhupendra Kumar, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹45,000 to approve an agricultural loan. Dungarpur is a city and a Municipality in the southernmost part of Rajasthan, India.

According to officials, the two were caught red-handed on Monday after accepting the bribe in exchange for clearing a loan of ₹11 lakh. The complainant, along with his mother and brother, had applied for a ₹11 lakh loan under the Kisan Credit Card scheme for their agricultural land.

During the loan process, bank manager Abhimanyu Kumar Singh approved the loan but withheld ₹2 lakh and demanded a ₹50,000 bribe to release the remaining amount. He told the applicant that one of his acquaintances would contact him to collect the money.

After verifying the complaint, the ACB team confirmed the bribe demand and set a trap. On Monday, Bhupendra Kumar met the complainant near the Dungarpur Sadar police station and accepted ₹45,000 on behalf of the manager. Immediately after the transaction, the ACB team intervened and arrested both Abhimanyu Kumar Singh and Bhupendra Kumar on the spot.
