A Bank Employee in Chandigarh has been injured with Knife. Three people tried to loot Rs.5 Lakh from a bank employee collecting cash in Sector 27, Chandigarh in broad daylight. The Police has arrested the accused. The police said that the incident took place on May 28 at around 11:30 am.
Pradeep, who works as a cash collector at AU Finance Small Bank, SCO No. 9, Sector-27D, told the police that he was returning to the bank with cash from Anaj Mandi, Sector-26, when two youths on a scooter followed him and stopped his Activa on the way and tried to snatch his bag. When Pradeep did not let go of the bag, one of the accused attacked his right hand with a knife. Despite being injured, Pradeep shouted, due to which a crowd gathered there.

During this, one of the accused fled with the scooty, while the other started running on foot. Constable Piyush, a PRC personnel present on the spot, showed bravery and caught the fleeing accused in a public toilet in Sector-27. The arrested accused was identified as Angrez Singh, resident of Hammad Lodra, Ferozepur, Punjab.
Police investigation revealed that Angrez Singh along with Amit Kumar and Shubham Bharti had conspired to commit this crime. Shubham Bharti has previously worked in AU Finance Bank and he knew Pradeep’s cash collection route. All three tried to execute the crime with complete planning.
Accused Amit Kumar resident of Ward No. 10, Baijnath, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and Shubham Bharti resident of C-603, Royal Empire Society, Peermuchhalla, District Mohali, Punjab have also been arrested by the police. The Activa scooter used in the robbery has also been recovered.
