Abhishek, a friend of Atul, said that a few days ago Atul received calls and messages from an unknown number. A woman contacted him. During a video call, she recorded an obscene video of Atul. Later, the fraudsters demanded money and threatened to circulate the video if he did not pay.

Abhishek also said that the perpetrators had hacked Atul’s mobile number, which gave them access to his contacts. Atul was under constant blackmail, which caused him extreme stress. On Wednesday, he hanged himself in his room.

The fraudsters had also sent messages to Atul’s contacts, falsely claiming that he had not repaid a loan.

Atul Raikwar, 26, originally lived near the District Magistrate’s residence in Mahoba. His father, Ashok Kumar, passed away 13 years ago. His family includes his mother Kiran and brothers Anshul and Prince. For the last three years, Atul worked in the insurance department of a private bank in Kanpur, renting a house in Keshavpuram, Rawatpur.

On Wednesday morning, Atul spoke with his mother and complained of insomnia. He asked her to call him in the evening. His younger brother Prince tried calling him twice that afternoon, but there was no answer. Concerned, the family asked Atul’s friend Abhishek to check on him. When Abhishek reached Atul’s room, the door was locked from inside. Looking through the window, he saw Atul’s body hanging from a fan.

Before his death, Atul posted a story on social media taking responsibility for his own death. His brother Anshul said that Atul had been under mental stress for the past 15 days due to threats and blackmail involving a honey trap.
