A tragic incident occurred in the Chinhat area of Lucknow on Monday morning when Suraj Pandey, a young man from Prayagraj, took his own life by shooting himself with a pistol. Suraj, who worked at HDFC bank, had been living in a rented house in Chinhat. His wife, who resides in Mumbai, had been trying to reach him since the morning but was unable to get through to him.
Concerned, she contacted a relative in Lucknow and asked him to check on Suraj. The relative, after several unsuccessful attempts to knock on the door, alerted the police. A team from the 112 emergency service arrived at the scene, broke down the door, and found Suraj lying in a pool of blood.
The police immediately launched an investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem, and a forensic team has examined the crime scene. No suicide note was found, and a pistol was discovered near Suraj’s body. However, the weapon’s license was not located.
According to Chinhat police station in-charge Bharat Pathak, the police broke the window of the room while doing videography. After this, they entered inside, Suraj was lying on the bed in a pool of blood. He was dead. A pistol was lying near the body. The police collected evidence with the help of the forensic team. The room was searched, but no suicide note was found. The license of the pistol could not be found either.
Suraj, originally from Palghar, Maharashtra, had been living in a rented house in Kamta for the past two months. He had married Neha in 2019. Suraj’s family, including his brothers Sachin and Shubham, have been informed about the incident. The police are awaiting their arrival to proceed with further action.
The police station in-charge said that Suraj, a resident of Palghar in Maharashtra, was living in Shoaib Khan’s rented house in Kamta for two months. Suraj was married to Neha in 2019. Suraj has two brothers, Sachin and Shubham. Police say that further action will be taken after the family members arrive. The reason for suicide has not been clear in the investigation so far. Suraj had shot himself by placing the pistol on his temple.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to understand the reasons behind this tragic event.
