On Wednesday, April 03, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Hodal sub-division of Palwal district, Haryana. A youth working at ICICI Bank took his own life, allegedly due to harassment by bank officials and colleagues. The deceased’s father has filed a complaint with the police, accusing the bank manager, another employee, and others of forcing his son to commit suicide. The police have taken action based on this complaint.
Allegations of Harassment and Mental Torture
According to the complaint filed by the family members of the deceased, Dinesh, he had been working at ICICI Bank for some time. During this period, he had been subjected to mental harassment for an extended period. The family members specifically named the bank manager, Anil, and another staff employee, Sunil, as individuals responsible for the harassment. Dinesh had informed his family about this harassment on multiple occasions. In fact, he had even expressed his desire to resign from his job, but the manager did not agree and the harassment persisted. Tragically, Dinesh took the extreme step of ending his own life by hanging himself in his house.
Police Investigation and Actions Taken
Dalbir Singh, the in-charge of Chandhat police station, confirmed that they have received a complaint regarding the suicide of a youth in Barauli. The body of the deceased has been transported to the civil hospital for post-mortem examination. The police will proceed with their investigation and take appropriate action based on the complaint received from the deceased’s relatives.
This is undoubtedly a distressing incident, and it highlights the importance of addressing workplace harassment and providing support to individuals facing such challenges. It is essential for organizations to create a safe and inclusive environment for their employees, where grievances can be addressed and resolved promptly.
Bank culture is very toxic today.
Yes indeed, bank top management are assigning unrealistic and unreasonable unarchiveble targets down the line, which is resulting in such frequent tragic incidents.
shocked to read that one more star wen away from the sky. My request and sincere advise to all youths wherever working, do not go back foot and loose confidence. Constitution of our country has too much sections of Law that upto the last moment our Hon’ble Courts do best and all out efforts to save the lives.
committing suicide is not the solution and Banks are governed by the RBI. The Govt. has started various portals to send your genuine problems to the CEO or the MD of the Bank.
After committing suicide problem persists and wrong side confidence increased among accuseds and in this chain many children become parent less and widows and widower being compelled to be single.
Looking to these increasing suicidal cases among Bank employees, I strongly request to the Top Management of evert PSBs and Pvt. Banks to constitute a committee of psychratists and find our the solution meticulously.
Sir even complaining to the TOP MANAGEMENT they are not considering the grievance redressal ..we are facing in State Bank of India … Hyderabad Circle

Real picture of private sector Bank.Banking circle are fully aware of the fact, but keep silent for fear of promotion, salary hike and unethical profit motive of the organisation. They doing mental torture for all employees.Manager are pressure for employees only businesses they dont think about bank employees. They think only business for everyday and pressurized all employee.
It sounds like you’re facing a lot of challenges at ICICI BANK, where seniors don’t listen to junior employees, and bonuses and increments are withheld arbitrarily. It’s frustrating to be in a situation where you feel unheard and undervalued, leading to high blood pressure and constant stress. It’s not fair that seniors think they can get more work done by putting pressure on juniors, and it’s concerning that overtime isn’t compensated, and bonuses and increments are withheld. Have you considered discussing these issues with HR or seeking support from a higher authority within the company?
It seems like junior employees at ICICI BANK are not being heard by their seniors, who also arbitrarily withhold bonuses and increments. It’s frustrating to be in a situation where I face high blood pressure and constant stress due to feeling unheard. It’s unfair that seniors believe they can get more work done by pressuring juniors, and it’s concerning that overtime isn’t compensated, and bonuses and increments are withheld. My mistake might be that I speak up face-to-face during work, which has led me to feel very troubled today.
