The case was brought to the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Guna, by farmer Mohan Singh, a resident of Moodramaata village in Aron tehsil. Singh had filed a petition after his soybean crop suffered severe losses in 2016. An assessment conducted by the government revealed that the damage to crops in Moodramaata was as high as 79.1 percent.

In 2021, the Commission issued an order directing HDFC Bank to pay the compensation amount to the affected farmer. However, despite the order, the bank has not fulfilled its obligation, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
