In a surprising incident of theft, two outdoor units of air conditioners (ACs) installed at IDBI Bank’s Dhaturi branch in Sonipat, Haryana, were stolen on Monday night. Acting on a complaint from the bank’s assistant manager, the Murthal police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from the vicinity is being reviewed to identify the culprits.
Details of the Incident
Nirmala Kumari, Assistant Manager at IDBI Bank, reported the incident upon arriving at the bank on Tuesday morning. She found that out of the four ACs installed in the bank, the outdoor units of two ACs had been stolen. During the search, another outdoor unit was discovered hidden in the bushes behind the bank premises.
Police Investigation Underway
Sub-Inspector Jogendra Singh, the Investigating Officer from Murthal Police Station, confirmed that a complaint was received in the morning, following which the crime scene was inspected. A case has been registered against unknown individuals under Section 303 BNS, and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the thieves.
The police are hopeful that CCTV footage from nearby cameras will provide leads in the case. Further investigations are in progress to recover the stolen units and bring the perpetrators to justice.
