A robbery attempt was reported at the Central Bank of India branch at M.M. Chauraha in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday evening, just 13 days after an earlier attempt to break into the same bank. At around 7 p.m., two armed men entered the branch with pistols, threatened the employees and demanded cash. A third accomplice was waiting outside on a motorcycle with the engine running to help them escape.

The bank employees told the men that banking hours were over and the manager had already left with the keys. After staying inside for around five minutes, the suspects came out of the bank and fled on the motorcycle. They could not take any cash from the branch.

After receiving information about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) R.D. Prajapati, SDOP Sachin Dhurve and Kotwali police station in-charge Puneet Kumar Bajpai reached the spot along with other police personnel. The police questioned bank manager Prashant Khare and other employees to gather details about the incident. Based on the manager’s complaint, the police registered a case of attempted robbery against the unidentified suspects and started an investigation.

The latest incident comes just 13 days after another attempt to break into the same bank. On the night of October 16, three suspects allegedly tried to lift the bank’s shutter using iron rods and a jack. When the bank opened in the morning, the shutter was found partially open. However, the locks inside the bank remained intact, and no cash or other items were reported stolen.
