A 27-year-old woman died after suffering a serious head injury at a hotel in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. The deceased, Muskan, had married Nilesh, a manager at MP Gramin Bank, just four months ago. The incident took place at Hotel Rishabh under the jurisdiction of Sipri Bazar police station at around 12 noon. While her husband claimed that she accidentally fell while they were preparing to check out, Muskan’s father has accused him of murder. Police are investigating the matter, and the exact cause of death will be established after the post-mortem report.

According to the police, Muskan and her husband, Nilesh, 33, a resident of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, had checked into Hotel Rishabh on October 23 and were scheduled to leave on October 24. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing Muskan walking towards their room with her husband and a hotel staff member. The husband and the staff member entered the room, while Muskan was near the doorway. Within a few seconds, she suddenly fell backwards and hit her head. Blood was reportedly found on the floor following the fall.
After the incident, Nilesh lifted Muskan and brought her inside the room. With the help of hotel staff, he rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. When the police reached the hospital, Nilesh was present and told them that the couple had been preparing to check out. According to his statement, they were returning to their room with a hotel staff member to collect their belongings when Muskan suddenly fell.

Muskan’s father, Ramjilal Simoliya, a resident of Nainagarh in the Premnagar area of Jhansi, has raised serious allegations against his son-in-law. He said that Muskan and Nilesh got married on June 29, and the family had organised a grand wedding ceremony at Hotel JS Grand. According to him, Muskan was preparing for a Junior Engineer (JE) examination scheduled for October 28. The family had brought her home on October 10 so that she could prepare for the examination and spend some time with them.

Ramjilal alleged that Nilesh arrived at their home at around 11:30 pm on October 23 and took Muskan away the following morning. He claimed that Nilesh told him he was taking his daughter to his aunt’s house in Ganesh Vihar Colony. Trusting his son-in-law, he allowed Muskan to leave with him. However, the family later learned that the couple had checked into a hotel instead.
According to Ramjilal, Nilesh called the family on Sunday and asked them to reach Rudra Hotel near Chitra Square. As they could not find a hotel by that name in the area, they searched for the location and eventually reached Hotel Rishabh. There, they discovered that Muskan and Nilesh had been staying at the hotel. The hotel register reportedly showed that the couple had checked in on October 23 and were scheduled to check out on October 24.

Ramjilal further alleged that Nilesh later asked them to go to Kapoor Nursing Home, but they could not find him there. He then directed them to the Medical College and subsequently to the Civil Hospital. When the family reached the Civil Hospital, they learned that Muskan had died.

Muskan’s father suspects that her death was not accidental. He alleged that Nilesh may have grabbed her by the face and slammed her head against a wall, causing the fatal injury. He also claimed that his son-in-law had been involved with other women and was already married to a woman living in Indore. According to Ramjilal, the family learned about the alleged first marriage only after Muskan’s wedding. He further alleged that Nilesh frequently compared Muskan with his first wife and told her that the other woman was better than her.

Ramjilal also stated that Nilesh had previously worked in the private sector and had secured a position at a bank around 15 days before the incident. The allegations regarding Nilesh’s previous marriage, relationships and the circumstances surrounding Muskan’s death have not yet been independently established.
City Superintendent of Police Preeti Singh said that the police had visited the hotel and inspected the scene. The couple had been staying in room number 212. She added that the CCTV footage was being examined and that the allegations made by Muskan’s father were under investigation. The police are also examining the circumstances in which Muskan sustained the head injury. The final cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received.
