HDFC Bank has announced that it will discontinue its old MobileBanking App UPI IDs from October 31, 2026, and has asked customers to register on its updated mobile banking app to continue using UPI services without interruption.

The change will affect customers using old UPI IDs in the format 99XXXXXX88@hdfcbank. After completing UPI registration on the updated HDFC Bank App, customers will receive a new UPI ID ending in @hdfc, such as 99XXXXXX88@hdfc.

The bank said the updated app offers better performance, stronger security and an improved payment experience. It also provides enhanced capabilities for receiving person-to-person (P2P) UPI payments, allowing customers to receive more incoming transactions daily.

Customers who use their old HDFC Bank MobileBanking App UPI QR codes to receive payments will also need to generate a new QR code linked to their updated UPI ID to ensure that payments continue smoothly.

To make the change, customers need to download or update the HDFC Bank App to its latest version, open the UPI section, select the Register/Activate UPI option and complete the registration process.

Once registration is complete, the new UPI ID will be generated. Customers who regularly receive payments through UPI should update their QR codes and inform anyone who uses their old UPI ID or QR code to send them money.
