Complaints have surfaced over the alleged unauthorized withdrawal of money from customers’ Fixed Deposits (FDs) at the Rajendra Nagar branch of IDBI Bank in Satna, Madhya Pradesh.
Cases involve compensation money deposited in fixed deposits following court orders after the deaths of family members in railway and road accidents.

The complaints were filed with district collector. After receiving the complaints, Collector Dr. Satish Kumar S assigned the investigation to Lead District Manager (LDM) Gautam Sharma. Meanwhile, City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Manish Tripathi has recorded the statements of the complainants.

The first case involves Mamta, a resident of Uchehara, whose son Neeraj died in a railway accident. Following the incident, an FD worth ₹3.90 lakh was held in her name as compensation. Mamta alleged that the fixed deposit had gone missing. According to the complaint, the bank initially dismissed her claim as false but later acknowledged that the account had been closed and the money withdrawn. The circumstances under which the account was closed and the money was withdrawn are now under investigation.
The second case concerns Khushiram Bagri, a resident of Nagod, whose son Dev died in an accident. An FD worth ₹10.17 lakh had been created following a court order as compensation for the death. Khushiram alleged that the bank closed the original account and opened a new fixed deposit at a lower interest rate. He claimed that the change resulted in a financial loss of approximately ₹60,000 to ₹70,000.
According to sources, similar complaints had been reported against the bank in the past. The then-CSP, Devendra Singh, had initiated an investigation into an earlier complaint. However, the inquiry reportedly did not progress after the bank management and the customer reached a settlement. At that time, the bank had attributed the matter to a clerical error and issued a new fixed deposit to the customer.
Following the latest complaints, reports indicate that the entire staff of the Rajendra Nagar branch, including Branch Manager Kapil Ahirwar, has been replaced.
CSP Manish Tripathi said that the statements of both complainants were recorded on Friday and that the investigation would proceed based on their statements. Meanwhile, LDM Gautam Sharma is awaiting a report from the bank management before taking further steps in the matter.
The complainants have demanded the recovery of the entire amount and the registration of an FIR against those responsible. The investigation will examine how the fixed deposit accounts were handled, whether the withdrawals were authorised, and whether any bank officials were involved in the alleged irregularities.
