Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: A case has come to light in Kairana where a man forged documents for agricultural land and obtained a loan of ₹8.50 lakh from the Punjab National Bank (PNB).

The complaint has been filed by Jarnail Singh, a resident of Panipat, who purchased 0.8480 hectares of agricultural land from Rashid, a resident of Balhera, for ₹10 lakh in 2016.

According to the complainant, due to illness, he was unable to get the land mutated in his name.

Jarnail Singh alleges that Rashid, in collusion with bank officials, falsified revenue records. A fake deed was prepared and loan was sanctioned on that land on May 3, 2023.

Finally, the complainant filed case in court. Following a court order, police have registered a case against Rashid, the then-PNB branch manager, and a field officer.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Revenue records, the mortgage deed, and documents related to the loan issued by the bank are being examined.
