Zero Tolerance Towards Such Employees! SBI issues statement against Female Staff for Refusing to Speak Kannada

There is a bad news for the SBI female staff who refused to speak Kannada. The incident, which occurred at the SBI branch in Surya Nagara, Anekal Taluk. Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister said – “The behaviour of the SBI Branch Manager in Surya Nagara, Anekal Taluk, refusing to speak in Kannada & English and showing disregard to citizens, is strongly condemnable”.
Today, the Female Manager has been transferred by SBI. SBI said that the behaviour of female manager was not acceptable and bank has zero tolerance policy in such cases.
SBI said – “State Bank of India maintains a policy of zero tolerance towards any behaviour that adversely affects the sentiments of our customers. We remain committed to ensuring respectful and dignified conduct towards all citizens”.
The video shows the SBI manager telling the customer, “I will not speak Kannada, this is India,” when asked to speak in Kannada. When the customer reminded her, “This is Karnataka, madam,” the manager remained adamant, saying, “You haven’t given me this job,” and urged the customer to complain to her seniors. She then declared, “I will never speak Kannada,” which further angered locals and viewers online.
The clip quickly gained traction on social media, leading to widespread criticism from pro-Kannada groups and language activists, who accused the manager of disrespecting the regional language and displaying a “pro-Hindi, anti-Kannada” attitude.
