Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighted India’s growing reputation for producing high-quality products and emerging as a global business destination. Speaking at a two-day Capacity Building Workshop organized by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Chaudhary emphasized the global attention India is receiving for its skilled citizens, innovative businesses, and superior products.

Focus on Quality and Competitiveness

Addressing the participants, Chaudhary stressed the importance of quality in achieving global recognition. He urged Indian industries to prioritize product quality as a key differentiator in international markets. “The world is eyeing India for the quality of its products, its citizens, and its businesses, which presents a significant competitive advantage,” he said.

Chaudhary further emphasized that industries need to invest in entrepreneurs to drive economic progress. By supporting budding entrepreneurs and focusing on innovation, businesses can contribute to India’s global competitiveness.

Support for Women and Underserved Entrepreneurs

The minister also spoke about the recent Union Budget 2025, which introduced several initiatives aimed at empowering women and entrepreneurs from underserved communities. He noted that loans worth approximately ₹10,000 crore have been sanctioned under the Fund of Funds (FoF) scheme to help them start and grow their businesses.

“The government has implemented various schemes to assist citizens in pursuing their dreams, but these will only be effective if we learn to utilize them as our right,” Chaudhary remarked, urging entrepreneurs to make full use of government programs.

Workshop to Boost Entrepreneurial Skills

The two-day workshop was designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by enhancing the skills and knowledge of emerging entrepreneurs. It featured interactive panel discussions, practical sessions, and training on key topics like market access, digital skills, and financial management.

More than 100 entrepreneurs from states like Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh participated in the event. Many of these participants had received training under the SANKALP program, an initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship aimed at building skills and promoting entrepreneurship in India.

Takeaways from the Workshop

The workshop provided attendees with actionable strategies for scaling their businesses and gaining better access to funding opportunities. Participants reported significant improvements in their understanding of financial management and how to navigate challenges in the entrepreneurial landscape.

They also benefited from strengthened professional networks, which will help them find opportunities, overcome hurdles, and grow their ventures in the competitive market.

Building an Entrepreneurial India

The event reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship and enhance India’s standing as a global leader in innovation and quality manufacturing. With the support of programs like SANKALP and the Fund of Funds, entrepreneurs are expected to play a key role in driving India’s economic growth and global trade competitiveness.
