A case of fight of a woman customer with the manager of Punjab and Sindh Bank has come to light. The woman got angry as she could not withdraw money from the bank due to server issue. She got so angry that she started a physical fight with bank manager. The incident took place in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district of Chhattisgarh. The entire incident was captured in camera.
The video shows about 10 to 15 people yelling at each other. A woman grabs the bank manager and yells at him while he grabs her hair back. Then they start fighting. The video shows a woman attacking the bank manager inside the bank at first. Then the fight moves outside, where the woman keeps hitting and yelling at the manager.
People from Bakarkatta village went to Punjab and Sindh Bank to take out money. But when they got there, the bank’s server wasn’t working, so they couldn’t get their money. The bank manager told them about the problem and asked them to come back later when it was fixed. This made some people angry, and they argued with the manager, which turned into a fight.

This server down problem must have been a daily problem and the branch manager must not have found a permanent solution to this problem and must have taken it lightly, otherwise the customer would not have started fighting if such a problem occurs for a day or two.
Nevertheless, we strongly criticize this incident of fighting.
When there is technical issue, in what way a branch manager is responsible. Manhandling a public servant during office hours is a criminal crime. People responsible for this should b punished legally
@Naresh Ranga. Please have some sense. What can a branch manager do about the network issue. Maximum is he can take up with his higher ups.
What can the poor branch manager do Which is not under his control. The top management is sitting in AC room without taking decision. They don’t know the ground reality only asking the employees to do life insurance business where the top management is getting huge incentives.
1.There were acute shortage of staff at all PSBs resulting to poor customer services at Branch levels resulting to occurrences of this incident
2.In which way customers are responsible for network problems in Branches?
3.Executives at the Apex Levels wants achievement of their targets only, sitting in AC rooms with video conferences.
The customers should know the limitations of branch manager and also the criminal offence of misbehaving with the Bank personnel. Server down is a technical problem & the higher authorities of the bank are responsible to take up the issue with the appropriate authorities / LAN. I feel for the customers. They may jointly lodge complaint with higher authorities including RBI. But they should not take law & order at their hand and misbehave/ pass any remark towards any Bank official. The lady customer has made gross criminal offence. She should immediately booked for.
This is a burning issue of most of the rural and semi-urban branches of Bank, Manager is helpless,he can only inform the internet issues to the Authority, but no way it is taking seriously, I have also faced the same difficulties while I was posted in a Semi Urban branch before my retirement, I have to take a parallel internet from Jio in addition to BSNL,to some extent it solved it ,now Management must be serious about server issues but man handling of Manager no way justified, the person involved must be punished,,,
Useless top people , now days bank employees are treated like a slaves
Banks should develop some robust alternative method of knowing the outstanding balance in the accounts of its customers and based on this urgent payment requirements of customer up to a limit can be allowed if all other requirements like KYC , dealings of the customers etc.are known. Such an emergent situation can be averted. However beating a branch manager for no fault of his can’t be tolerated and suitable legal action against the violent behaviour of the customers should be immediately initiated and the Regional Management should suo moto take cognisance of such incidents and come to the rescue of the bank staff.
Main problem is man power shortage at branches and lack of network isues and which is not perminantly resolved by management.
