A 45-year-old immigration consultant (Rajdeep Singh) had shot himself inside the toilet of an HDFC Bank branch in Mohali’s Sector 68 on Tuesday afternoon.

Rajdeep Singh, originally from Moga, was living with his family in Sector 80, Mohali. He also ran an office in Sector 82. According to eyewitnesses, he entered the bank around 2 pm, and shot himself with a pistol.

This came as a shocking news for the entire banking industry and everyone was surprised why the man committed suicide inside HDFC Bank.

Now, the Police have discovered the reason of this suicide inside bank. Police have registered a case against six people, including Punjab Police AIG Gurjot Singh Kaler, for allegedly driving him to suicide.

The victim had left behind a suicide note and video, accusing several individuals of duping him of crores through immigration and property fraud.

AIG Gurjot Singh Kaler is currently part of a central government SIT in the North-East and formerly SP (Traffic & Cyber Crime) in Mohali. Along with him, case has been filed against chartered accountant Sameer Aggarwal, Rinku, Saina, cop Rishi Rana, and one unidentified person. The FIR has been registered under Sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS.

His father alleged that the accused forcibly took crores from his son for property investment, but neither provided any property documents nor returned the money. Rinku and Saina, who run an immigration firm, allegedly took ₹40 lakh from the victim and threatened to kill him when he sought the money back.

AIG Gurjot Singh Kaler is accused of demanding more money, and threatening to file false cases against the victim and his family if he didn’t pay up. On September 8, the victim told his father about the threats and said that he wanted to end his life. The next day, around 12.30 pm, his son was taken to Kaler’s residence in a government vehicle by a cop Rishi Rana and another man. They allegedly forced him to apply for a loan in his name and took him to HDFC bank in Sector 68.

When he entered the bank, he excused himself to go to the toilet. In the toilet, he recorded a video explaining the harassment and fraud. He sent the video to a friend and a text message to his wife, explaining the situation. After this, he shot himself with a licensed .45-bore pistol.

This is really a big shocking news and shows the high scale corruption prevailing in our society. The matter needs to be investigated thoroughly and the accused must be punished.
