AIBEA (All India Bank Employees Association) is facing sharp criticism from users on social media. But Why? Why are users criticizing AIBEA?

On 5th October 2025, AIBEA General Secretary – C.H.Venkatachalam shared a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The post stated that AIBEA will observe badge wearing programme on 7 October 2025 and request the Government of India to fulfill its demands which are as listed below:

  1. Nationalise all Private Banks
  2. Adequate recruitment of regular clerical & sub-staff cadre
  3. Reverse victimisations in Federal Bank
  4. Early wage revision in CSB Bank
  5. Ex-gratia benefit to pensioners in all private banks
  6. Do not sell Nainital Bank – merge with Bank of Baroda
  7. Increase retirement age to 60 in Tamilnad Mercantile Bank
  8. Convert all C2C employees into regular employees
  9. CBDT exemption for Pension Fund in private banks

As soon as this post was uploaded, users started criticizing AIBEA. Users said that AIBEA should focus on public sector banks and save them from privatisation rather than focussing on private banks. Users said that AIBEA should think logically and Why is AIBEA not focussing on PSU Banks? Users said that AIBEA is not able to save IDBI Bank from Privatisation and is asking for nationalisation of Private Banks.

Through these criticism posts, it’s clear that users want AIBEA to take strong steps for saving banks from Privatisation and introduction of 5 Day Banking.
