Astha Singh stated that the man, had been repeatedly passing comments on her outside the bank premises. On the day of the incident, her colleague visited the branch to submit her resignation and was accompanied by her sister-in-law. Astha alleged that the sister-in-law of her colleague made a comment on her near the bathroom, which led to an argument. The colleague’s husband then intervened, misbehaved with her, and the situation escalated.

She also clarified that the video is not from February. The incident took place on 6 January 2026, and the video has surfaced on social media only now. Astha Singh further said that the man used abusive and unparliamentary language against her, and she responded to him.

Astha Singh said that she has never argued with any bank customer till date and that this incident occurred after the man passed derogatory remarks towards her.

She also said that the caste-based allegations are baseless and that she did not intend to hurt anyone. She stated that she mentioned her caste only after the man repeatedly misbehaved with her and kept asking about her caste.
