Viral Video: Obscene dance in Saran government office in Bihar, DM orders investigation

A video of dancers performing inappropriate acts during a Holi Milan event at a government office in Bihar’s Saran district has caused outrage among senior officials. The incident happened at the Gadkha block office, and the video quickly spread on social media, leading to swift action by authorities. As a result, a police case (FIR) was registered against those responsible.

Who Organized the Event?

The event was reportedly arranged by Harendra Mahato, the husband of Gadkha block chief Renu Devi. The video shows Mahato and other attendees dancing to Bhojpuri songs with female performers. The presence of several government officials and members of the Block Development Committee (BDC) has added to the controversy.

Inappropriate Behavior Caught on Camera

The footage shows attendees making obscene gestures towards the dancers, calling them over, and offering them money. Mahato himself is allegedly seen engaging in inappropriate acts with the performers. The video has triggered strong criticism, with many people condemning the behavior on social media.

Legal Action Taken

Following the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kumar Ashish directed Gadkha Police Station to file an FIR (Case No. 183/25) against those responsible. The charges include organizing an obscene performance and using a DJ without a proper loudspeaker license. Authorities are now preparing to take further action against the accused.

Investigation Ordered

In response to the viral video, District Magistrate (DM) Aman Sameer has ordered an official investigation. Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Laxman Tiwari has been assigned to look into the matter and submit a report. The investigation has caused tension among block office employees as officials face increased scrutiny.
