As frustration grew, villagers from Kamalpur village closed the bank’s shutters and locked bank employees inside for about an hour. During this time, the angry crowd raised slogans against the bank management.

Bank Customers said that some of their family members were admitted to a private hospital in critical condition and they urgently needed money for emergency treatment. They claimed they had been standing in line since morning, but continuous delays pushed them to the edge.

Villagers alleged that this problem has been continuing for the past one month. They said the bank staff asks them to come after 2 PM every day, claiming the cash van arrives late. Even when cash arrives, only a limited amount is distributed before customers are asked to return on another day.

The villagers also accused bank staff of misbehavior, negligence in KYC work, and not updating passbooks on time.

The situation remained tense until local prominent citizens reached the spot and intervened. After their efforts, the villagers calmed down and the bank shutters were reopened.

Reacting to the incident, branch manager Ankur Parik said that the branch has a very high demand for cash and the available cash was exhausted quickly on Monday. He assured customers that regular cash supply would be arranged soon to avoid such situations in the future.
