A case of alleged bribery has been reported from Sadar Tehsil in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh. A viral video shows SDM Rakesh Kumar putting an envelope, suspected to contain bribe money, into his pocket. The incident, captured in the CCTV camera in his office, was shared on social media by a staff member.
In the video, the Mandi Secretary is seen placing an envelope inside the table. After some time, the SDM takes the envelope, puts it in his pocket, and leaves the room. The footage also shows the Mandi Secretary folding his hands before the officer as he exits the office.

Once the video spread on social media, it triggered widespread discussion in the district. District Magistrate has removed Rakesh Kumar from his post as SDM and transferred him to the district headquarters at Kakor. The DM has also ordered an official inquiry. The investigation will be done by ADM Auraiya, Avinash Maurya.
ADM Maurya confirmed that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined and a detailed report will be submitted to the DM soon. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked debate about the conduct and accountability of government officials.
