On March 31, a shocking incident took place near Kalyan Nagar on the Outer Ring Road in Bengaluru. A video of the incident went viral on social media, capturing the assault on Suresh, an auditor working at Heritage Foods. The video showed a group of assailants brutally attacking Suresh with an iron rod, leaving him unconscious on the road.
Following the circulation of the video and public outcry, the Bengaluru Police swiftly responded and initiated an investigation. On April 5, they arrested five individuals in connection with the assault. The arrested individuals were identified as:
- Umashankar Reddy (37) – Considered the key conspirator.
- Anush Kyalwin (23)
- Vineesh (26)
- Muttu (19)
- Sandeep (35)
Motive Behind the Assault
During the investigation, it was revealed that Umashankar Reddy and Vineesh were colleagues of the victim, Suresh. Suresh had joined the company as an auditor approximately a year ago and had been pressuring Umashankar and Vineesh to work faster. Specifically, he had been urging them to clear transactions on a daily basis, a process that previously took several days to complete. Frustrated by the increased work pressure, Umashankar and Vineesh decided to hire a group of goons to assault Suresh.
The Bengaluru Police took immediate action after the video of the assault went viral on social media. Users tagged the official account of the Bengaluru City Police, urging them to take action against the assailants. The Hennur Police Station swiftly located the victim and initiated the investigation, leading to the subsequent arrests of the five suspects.
