Uppal Farm Girl MMS Viral Video: Commission asks Police to submit Report

A shocking turn has come in the “Uppal Farm Girl” case from Punjab. The Punjab State Women’s Commission has taken suo motu notice of the incident in which a 19-year-old girl was allegedly drugged, raped, and then filmed in an obscene video that was later made viral. The Commission has written to the Jalandhar Rural SSP and demanded a full report of the case by August 22.
Harjinder Kaur Uppal, popularly known as Uppal Farm Girl, is active on social media and has around 72k followers. She makes video on Agriculture.
According to initial details, the young girl was first intoxicated, then sexually assaulted, and a pornographic video was recorded. Later, the video was allegedly circulated on social media by the girl’s own fiancé. The incident has left the victim and her family in a state of deep shock and distress.
Speaking on the matter, Women’s Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill condemned the act, calling it extremely shameful. She warned that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances. She also stated that if the police fail to take strict and swift action, the Commission itself will intervene directly.
The Commission has emphasized that delivering justice to the victim is the top priority and has directed that the immediate arrest of the accused must be ensured to restore faith in law and justice.
What Commission said?
It has come to light that Gurnam Kaur, daughter of Shri Paramjit Singh, resident of village Pakhra, District Jalandhar, was allegedly drugged by a boy, raped, and a pornographic video of her was recorded and circulated on social media. This is a very sensitive matter. A complaint has also been submitted to the Commission by the victim herself.
In this regard, taking suo motu notice under the “Punjab State Women Commission Act, 2001,” you are directed to immediately get the matter investigated through the Superintendent of Police Office and submit a detailed investigation/action report to the Commission. The report of the action taken should be submitted to the Commission by 22.08.2025 without fail.
