A shocking incident has been reported in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. A Bank manager working in Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank has been brutally assaulted by the public. The Bank Manager has filed complaint with the Police and more details will be released as the investigation progresses.
Arvind Kumar Pandey, the branch manager of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, Jaurajpur branch in Pilibhit, was violently attacked by a group of villagers on 18 November 2025 while he was travelling for official bank work.
According to the complaint, the branch manager left with his staff on the morning of 18 November for some bank related work. Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., near Simriya Ahra village, a man named Shamsuddin allegedly rammed his motorcycle into the manager’s car from the opposite direction, causing significant damage. Shocked by the accident, the manager stepped out of the vehicle while the injured man lay on the ground.
Arvind Pandey immediately dialed 108 and 100 to report the accident and request medical help for the injured man. However, during this time, a crowd gathered at the spot. Several people began to assault the manager. He was allegedly dragged with a towel tied around his neck and brutally assaulted. He suffered serious injuries in his head and ribs. The attackers reportedly took him to a nearby sugarcane field and continued the assault, leaving him helpless and semi-conscious. His glasses, cash, car keys, and important bank documents were also snatched by the public.
A Dial 100 police team soon reached the location, but even in the presence of the police, the crowd—estimated to include 100 to 150 people—continued to behave violently. The manager has named several attackers, including Ahmed (son of Zahoor Ahmed), Nisar Ahmed (son of Ishamullah), Naseeb Khan (son of Shamim Khan), Mohsin (son of Shamim Khan), and Ashfaq Khan (son of Achhan), all residents of Raipur village in Vichpuri, Pilibhit.
The situation worsened when more police personnel arrived to rescue the bank team. As they attempted to move the injured manager and staff to the police station, the mob attacked again. Stones were thrown at the police, and the car of bank official was damaged. The police finally managed to move the branch manager and his team to a safe place using another vehicle.
The car was severely vandalized, and several essential documents kept inside the vehicle went missing. Arvind Kumar Pandey has filed an FIR naming the accused individuals and demanding strict action. Bank employees are public servants, and such attacks create fear, making it difficult to perform their duties safely. He also requested security for the branch and its staff.
As per media reports, the motorcyclist involved in the collision later died. A case has also been registered against the branch manager regarding the biker’s death. Meanwhile, the manager’s complaint of assault and theft is also under investigation. Police said that both incidents—the death of the motorcyclist and the assault on the bank manager—are being investigated, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
