Siwan, Bihar: There is sad news for the entire banking fraternity. An officer working in Union Bank of India has lost his life after being hit by a train.
A tragic incident took place in Nirala Nagar, Siwan, on Sunday when a person was hit by a train and lost his life. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Kumar Srivastava (50), who was working as an Assistant Branch Manager at Union Bank of India. The accident occurred near Andar Dhala, close to Siwan Junction.
Before the accident, Sanjay Kumar had left home for Deoria for some work. After reaching the railway station, he spoke to his wife over the phone, informing her that he was traveling by the Amrapali Express. He said that he would return by evening. However, a short while later, when his daughter tried to contact him, the call was unexpectedly received by the police. They informed the family about the accident.
According to Station In-charge Vikas Kumar Azad, the information was received that a person had fallen under the Amrapali Express near Andar Dhala. Police immediately reached the spot, took the body into custody, and later shifted it to the station. The deceased was identified in the presence of his family, after which the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The sudden death has left Sanjay Kumar’s family shattered. His wife and children are in deep grief and unable to come to terms with the tragedy. His son, Avinash Kumar Srivastava said – “Father had left the house normally and was in constant touch. I still cannot understand how such an accident could happen.”
The news has also spread sorrow among the staff of Union Bank, Siwan, where Sanjay Kumar had been serving for a long time. Police have started an investigation to know the actual reason of death. More details will be released soon.
