Recently, a letter from UCO Bank Balasore region is getting viral. In the letter Deputy Zonal Head has ordered to stop salary of employees if CKYC pendency is not removed.

What is written in letter?

Despite extending deadlines and issuing several reminders regarding CKYC pendency, the backlog at branches has not only persisted but has actually increased over the past week. The pending figures from various branches are clear, indicating that no significant efforts have been made to address the issue. As a reminder, non-compliance with the regulatory requirement to allot CKYC IDs within 10 days of account opening may result in penalties. Given the situation, we request that you clear the CKYC pendency by July 31, 2024, without fail. Please be advised that, as per the decision of the Competent Authority, salaries for branches failing to comply will be withheld from next month until the pendency is resolved.

  1. Dear comrades if u want justice pl join with AIRRBEA leadership for struggle and anti employees orders by the crucial managements

  2. CKYC pending is on account of various portals involved which is accessed by many banks and financial institutions. Hence the portal should contain all the details of the customer which may have been updated by other banks which may become easy and linking with aadhar. These should be a separate company floated by all the banks and FIs so that ckyc in updated on a regular basis by an independent company or can be given to aadhar so that the same become authentic

  3. They cannot sit happily at RO and demand action. First the salary of Regional headcand his office member’s salary to be withheld for not providing additional staff for clearing mounting work at the branch and bullying the branch. I was working as RM in a PSB and when pending is increasing at any Branch, I deputed people to clear backlog and not behaved like this.

  4. I strongly say UCO Bank Balasore is of no Use. Specially shame on to Nishikant Singh who signed this letter. Whether he has asked each and every branch on reason for non compliance CKYC pendency?

Zonal/Regional Head should interfere and give a Show Cause to Nishikant Singh under which circumstances he signed this letter. @HumanRightCommission and Labour Commission should take strict action against this Nishikant Singh.

  5. Mr. Nishikant should deputed to one branch for one week let see how much CYKC he can complete within 1 week. I will give my entire pension for 1 Year.

I am retd. from UCO Bank, I know how painful to work under Balasore Zone. Zonal Head Mr. Dakua Ji and MD UCO Bank Mr. Aswini Ji should dismiss Mr. Nishikant for Inhuman behaviour.

  6. Entire Balasore Zone staff should be changed immediately because they don’t know the pain of working at Branch. Specially Nishikant should be sent to Port Blair or Jammu Branch.

Entire Balasore Zonal Office staff are waste, Union people posted in Balasore Zonal Office. No work simply enjoy only give letters to branch.

  7. Keeping bulk of staff at RO and ZO level and enjoying there and Not giving enough staff to branches but only giving orders after orders asking them to perform within time limits. It is really painful. Same problem in all the banks

  8. UCO bank is not focusing on proper recruitment and manpower many branches operating with only 3 staffs and these type of extra work like ckyc, other compliance eat lot of time and require extra systems. First the management should overhaul it’s staff shortage issue then talk like this
