A shocking theft attempt took place at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Khuiyan Sarwar village, located in Abohar, Fazilka district. According to reports, thieves broke into the bank by creating a hole in the toilet wall and entered the premises during the night.

Once inside, the miscreants tried to break open several lockers in the bank’s safe room. However, they failed to open any of them. Thankfully, no money or valuables were stolen from the bank.

To avoid getting caught, the thieves damaged the CCTV cameras installed inside the bank and also stole the DVR, which stores the video footage. As a result, there is no video evidence to help identify the culprits.

Police Begin Investigation After Bank Staff Alert Authorities

The next morning, when bank officials came to work, they discovered the damage and immediately informed the Khuiyan Sarwar police station. A police team quickly arrived at the spot and started the investigation.

Local villagers have expressed concern over the rising number of theft incidents in the area. They said that earlier, such incidents were rare, but now they are becoming more frequent. This has led many residents to stay alert and keep watch at night to prevent further crimes.
