Shri Rohan Chand Thakur appointed as the Government Nominee Director of Union Bank of India

Shri Rohan Chand Thakur has been appointed as the Government Nominee Director of Union Bank of India. He was appointed on July 24, 2025. Shri Rohan Chand Thakur doesn’t have any relationship with any of the existing Directors of the Bank. Also, he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of order of SEBI or any other such authority.

Shri Rohan Chand Thakur is an officer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) belonging to 2009 batch of Himachal Pradesh Cadre. At present, he is working as Director in Ministry of Finance, Department of
Financial Services, Government of India. He is an economics graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a Postgraduate in Management from IIM Ahmedabad. Experience in Government of Himachal Pradesh:
i. District Collector of Hamirpur and Shimla.
ii. Director of Information Technology.
iii. Managing Director of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department.
iv. Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Financial Corporation,
v. Excise and Taxation Commissioner.
vi. Managing Director of Himachal Road Transport Corporation.
He has previously worked with TAS before joining the civil services. He is also a Chevening Gurukul Fellow from the University of Oxford and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
