Subject: Request letter regarding assault and attempt to murder.
Respected Sir,
I, the undersigned, Anshul Sidhu, daughter of Devendra Kumar, originally a resident of Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh, and presently working as an Assistant Manager at the Regional Office of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, Soron, would like to submit the following:
On 18-07-2025, after completing my duty, I left the bank around 5 PM and boarded an auto-rickshaw from the stand to go towards the office. Two women were already seated in the auto. Upon seeing me, one woman moved to the other side and sat next to me. Shortly after, another woman also boarded the same auto and sat on my other side.
As soon as the auto reached ahead of the Soron stand, someone grabbed me tightly from behind by the neck. She held my collar and neck and started shaking me forcefully. At the same time, the woman sitting in front of me picked up her handbag and started hitting me from behind, while the woman next to me pulled my hair and started beating me as well.
It appeared they were trying to throw me out of the moving auto with the intention to murder me. I had the bank’s safe custody keys with me, which they tried to snatch during the scuffle. I managed to release one of my hands and instructed the driver to stop the auto urgently. The driver stopped the auto. Meanwhile, the police deployed there, caught one of the attackers as they tried to run away. I immediately informed the bank staff and reached the police station.
Later, bank staff also arrived at the police station. During this time, a man appeared in support of the two women and identified one of them as his sister-in-law. Some bank staff then informed me that this man was brother of Gururanjan Singh Tomar, her former branch manager.
In 2022, I had filed a complaint of sexual harassment at the workplace against Manager Gururanjan Singh Tomar with senior authorities. An inquiry was conducted, and he was found guilty. Since then, he has held a grudge against me. After the investigation, he confronted me and said, “Anshul, you will have to pay the price for filing the complaint against me.”
After some time, Manager Gururanjan Singh Tomar got retired and I was transferred to the Soron branch. When I informed my family about this past incident, they advised me not to pursue it further. However, I now firmly believe that the attack was premeditated and orchestrated by these two women at the behest of Gururanjan Singh Tomar to harm or kill me.
I fear that Gururanjan Singh Tomar may still attempt to harm me in the future. I request that strict legal action be taken against these two women and former manager Gururanjan Singh Tomar to ensure my safety and justice.
Thank you,
Anshul Sidhu
Assistant Manager
Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank
