SBI opens its 3rd branch in Lakshadweep, Total branches increase to 22,258

State Bank of India, the largest public sector Bank in India has opened its 3rd branch in Lakshadweep Island at Androth on February 12th, 2024 with Shri Vinay Tonse, MD (RB&O) inaugurating virtually, in the presence of Smt Bhuvaneshwari A, CGM Thiruvananthapuram and other esteemed guests.

SBI branches in Lakshadweep

SBI had two branches in Lakshadweep in kavratti and Minicoy. Now SBI has opened one more branch in Androth.

Lakshadweep is a union territory of India. It is an archipelago of 36 islands divided into three island subgroups: the Laccadive Islands in the middle with the Amindivi Islands in the north separated roughly by the 11th parallel north and the atoll of Minicoy to the south separated by the Nine Degree Channel along the 9th parallel north.
