SBI: In a significant move to support social welfare in Madhya Pradesh, the Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, attended an MSME Cluster Outreach Programme in Bhopal on Saturday. During the event, he handed over cheques totaling more than Rs 1.5 crore to two social organizations working to uplift underprivileged communities.

The donations were given to People’s General Association, based in Bhopal, and Adiwasi Sanrachana Seva Sansthan, located in Betul. These funds are part of SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, a program aimed at supporting communities in need. SBI’s statement shared that this contribution is dedicated to helping underprivileged and marginalized sections of society in various areas of Madhya Pradesh.

With this funding, the two organizations will work on improving facilities in government schools, old age homes, orphanages, anganwadis (rural child care centers), primary health centers, and girls’ toilets across 19 districts in Madhya Pradesh. SBI expects that this support will bring positive changes to these facilities, making them safer, better equipped, and more accessible for the people who rely on them.

The MSME Cluster Outreach Programme, where this funding was announced, was held in Bhopal’s Govindpura industrial area. SBI also shared that Bhopal and Jabalpur have been selected as focus areas for their MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) support program. Through this initiative, SBI aims to provide financial support, guidance, and resources to local businesses in these areas, helping them grow and contribute to the region’s economy.

This dual focus on social welfare and business support reflects SBI’s commitment to community development and economic progress in Madhya Pradesh.
