SBI Bank Manager hit by high speed Scorpio in Bihar

In the city of Bettiah, an out-of-control Scorpio SUV struck two people, including a bike-riding SBI bank manager, with such high velocity that it crashed into a house, breaking through a wall. The SUV had a nameplate from the Western Champaran’s Chief Medical Officer’s office. The bank manager was severely injured in the accident and was admitted to the Bettiah Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. The incident took place in Muharram Chowk.

The SBI bank manager, identified as Amit Raj from Kumarbagh branch, was among the occupants in the Scorpio, which also carried three other passengers. However, they fled the scene upon realizing the gravity of the situation. Local residents at the scene managed to apprehend the Scorpio driver, and the police were immediately informed.

The City Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Rajeev Kumar, arrived at the scene, and the police took custody of the damaged vehicle. During the incident, two motorcycles were also damaged. It is reported that the Scorpio driver was under the influence of alcohol. The police are conducting a full investigation into the matter.

The family members of the injured bank manager mentioned that Amit Raj was returning to his residence in Belbagh, Bettiah, from the Regional Office of State Bank of India late in the evening. It was during this time that the reckless Scorpio struck him, resulting in severe injuries. They also noted that the Scorpio driver appeared to be intoxicated.
