A tragic incident has shaken Bhopal after a 35-year-old assistant manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) died by suicide on Tuesday.
Avinash Jain, who was posted at SBI’s zonal office at Maida Mill, reportedly jumped in front of a train near the Chetak Bridge area. He was working as an assistant manager, and his wife, Roli Jain, was also employed at the same office.
According to police, Avinash and his wife had an argument at the office on Tuesday morning. After the disagreement, Avinash left the workplace. Later that evening, his body was found on the railway tracks under the Chetak Bridge.
Before taking the extreme step, Avinash wrote a suicide note in which he apologised to his family members. In the note, he mentioned the distribution of his property and insurance money and sought forgiveness, writing, “Mom, Dad, Roli, Didi, and Bhaiya… please forgive me. I have made many mistakes.”
The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and have started an investigation into the case. The suicide note is also being examined to understand the circumstances that led to the incident.
