Robbery in State Bank of India Branch in Punjab

In Tarn Taran, Punjab, on Thursday, two youths robbed a branch of State Bank of India. Armed with weapons, they entered the State Bank of India branch in Jhabal and fled with cash amounting to 8 to 9 lakh rupees. The bank’s security guard’s rifle was also taken by the robbers as they left.

Both robbers arrived on a motorcycle and wore helmets to conceal their identity. Upon receiving information about the robbery, the police reached the scene and initiated an investigation by seizing CCTV footage.

Upon receiving the robbery report, SSP Ashwini Kapoor arrived with his team to begin the investigation. He explained that around 10 AM, two armed individuals entered the bank, looted cash at gunpoint, and fled with a significant amount. When the bank guard and others pursued them, the robbers threw their motorcycle on the road and escaped in another vehicle.

SSP stated that the police have initiated a raid to apprehend the robbers, who executed the plan with only two individuals entering the bank, while their accomplices waited in another vehicle at a distance. After completing the operation, they fled in other vehicles.
