Video: Robbery at Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, Robbers opened Fire inside Bank, Staff Injured

Neemuch: A shocking robbery unfolded on Wednesday in Chitakheda, under the Jiran police station area of Neemuch. In broad daylight, two armed robbers on motorcycles entered the Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank, looted the bank, and injured three people during the heist.

The Incident

At around noon, two men, armed with guns, stormed into the bank. As they made their way inside, they fired shots, creating panic among the staff and customers. During the shooting, Banshilal Dayama, the bank’s peon, and a beneficiary, Mangi Bai, wife of Prahlad Meena, were both struck by bullets. Another woman was also seriously injured in the chaos and was immediately rushed to Neemuch District Hospital for treatment. The robbers, after taking control of the situation, looted Rs 71,000 from the bank. While escaping, they fired shots into the air, adding to the panic, before fleeing towards Rajasthan on their motorcycles.

Panic and Immediate Response

The incident has left the residents of Chitakheda shaken, and an atmosphere of fear spread through the town after the robbery. As soon as the police received information about the robbery, Virendra Singh Bisen, the in-charge of Police Sahayata Kendra Chowki, rushed to the scene with his team. The police found several cartridges that had been fired by the robbers and immediately began their investigation. The area quickly became crowded with locals, eager to know what had happened and concerned for their safety.

Police Investigation

Following the robbery, Neemuch’s Additional SP Naval Singh Sisodia reached the site and assessed the situation. The police have started reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed both inside the bank and at nearby locations in the city. According to Neemuch SP Ankit Jaiswal, the police have obtained some crucial CCTV footage showing the robbers fleeing towards Rajasthan. “Our team is actively pursuing the suspects,” said SP Jaiswal, adding that they are confident of catching the robbers soon.

Injured Taken for Treatment

The victims of the robbery were promptly admitted to Neemuch District Hospital for treatment. The condition of all three injured individuals is being closely monitored.

Ongoing Search for the Robbers

Police teams are continuously searching for the robbers and have set up roadblocks along potential escape routes towards Rajasthan. They are appealing to the public for any information that could help in tracking down the culprits.
