On Saturday night, unknown miscreants carried out a robbery at the Baroda Rajasthan Regional Rural Bank in Katunda village, located in the Begu area. The thieves entered the bank by creating a two-foot-wide hole in the back wall.
Once inside, the robbers stole four CCTV cameras, monitors, and other equipment. They also took two switches from the bank’s server. The miscreants searched through the bank’s records and caused significant damage to the electrical wiring and connectivity. In addition, they vandalized a cupboard, the FRCC cupboard, and two doors. However, their attempt to steal cash was unsuccessful as they could not break the bank’s lock.
The robbery was discovered on Sunday morning when bank manager Harishankar Sharma arrived and noticed the damage. He immediately reported the incident to the Parsoli police station. The police acted quickly by calling in a dog squad and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team from Bhilwara to investigate the scene.
Prem Singh, the officer in charge of Parsoli police station, mentioned that the police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby shops and have conducted raids at several suspicious locations. In response to the incident, the bank management has decided to enhance security measures, including appointing a night watchman to prevent future incidents.
