Rajasthan Gramin Bank Faces Criticism Over Welcome Poster of Chairman

Rajasthan Gramin Bank has come under public criticism for putting up a large welcome poster of its Chairman, Shri Mukesh Ji Bhartiya, on a billboard in Dausa. The poster was displayed on the occasion of his visit for the inauguration of the new premises of the Bandikui Jangir branch.

Several people have raised concerns over Rajasthan Gramin Bank’s decision to display a welcome poster of its Chairman during his visit. They said that instead of highlighting individuals, the bank should focus on promoting its products and services. According to them, banks have a responsibility to inform the public about schemes, loans, deposits, and other customer-friendly facilities. Displaying a poster of the Chairman, they argue, does not benefit customers and amounts to unnecessary expenditure.

The Rajasthan Gramin Bank is an Indian Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in Rajasthan established on 1 May 2025. The bank was formed by the amalgamation of Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank and Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank under The “One State, One RRB” policy of government. It currently has 1548 branches in Rajasthan. It functions under Regional Rural Banks’ Act 1976 and is sponsored by State Bank of India (SBI).

People demand answer from SBI

People on social media are strongly criticizing the move, saying that public money should not be wasted on welcome posters of bank officials. Many users are tagging SBI in the viral image and questioning why such expenses are being made when banks should focus on customer service and promoting their products. They are demanding that the bank clarify the reason behind putting up such posters and give an explanation to the public.

People are questioning the logic behind displaying such posters, asking whether the Chairman is a celebrity, minister, or politician to deserve such publicity. They argue that public servants should be known for their work and service to customers, not for being welcomed with posters and banners.
