Protest Continues: UFBU announces Agitation against new PLI scheme
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced agitation against the new PLI scheme for senior executives of Bank introduced by the Government of India.
The Govt has ordered Banks to credit PLI to senior executives (Scale IV and above), though the conciliation is pending at the office of Chief Labour Commissioner. This means that the Government has overrided its powers and neglected the CLC.
The major issue of protest is that the senior executives are being paid PLI upto 365 days of basic pay. They will get double salary whereas officers upto Scale III will be paid PLI upto 15 days of basic pay only. This is a huge difference. Officers upto Scale III will be paid PLI upto Rs.50,000 approximately whereas from Scale IV onwards, officers will be paid PLI ranging from Rs.10 lacs to Rs.20 lacs.
UFBU has announced the agenda of protest as follows:
- Meetings at all levels in all centres
- Wearing of Black Ribbons by all our members on 18-4-2026 (3rd Saturday)
- Wearing of Black Badges on 2-5-2026 (1st Saturday)
- Wearing of Black dress by all our leaders and activists on 16-5-2026 (3rd Saturday)
- Working strictly as per rules and procedures and withdrawal of extra co-operation
- Adherence to regular working hours
- Continue to exit from all official WhatsApp groups.
- Not attending any official functions of the Banks
- Not attending phone calls of the management by officers after 6-00 pm.
- Memorandum to IBA, CLC and DFS by all members in Branches
