A serious accident was narrowly avoided in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, when a massive Sheesham tree fell on a moving car during a sudden storm in the evening. The incident took place in Gaurbari village, under the jurisdiction of Antu police station.

The car was being driven by Pooja Pandey, the branch manager of Gauradand Gramin Bank, who was returning home after finishing her work. At the time of the incident, she was alone in her Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

As per eyewitnesses, a powerful storm hit the area suddenly, and due to strong winds, a huge Sheesham tree standing by the roadside collapsed and landed directly on her moving car. Pooja Pandey is the daughter of Vinod Pandey, who works as a Lekhpal in Sadar Tehsil. She is known to be a responsible bank officer and was on her usual duty route when the storm hit.

According to local residents, the weather had already started to deteriorate earlier in the day. The district administration had issued a warning through the Sachet mobile app, alerting people about possible storms and strong winds.

A red alert was issued for several nearby districts including Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, and Jaunpur. The alert warned of severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms expected to continue for the next three hours.

This incident highlights the importance of paying attention to weather alerts, especially during the monsoon and storm season. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but the accident serves as a reminder to stay indoors during weather warnings and avoid unnecessary travel.
