Punjab National Bank (PNB) has introduced a new online facility for its employees to submit or modify their choice to join or withdraw from any Union or Association. This can now be done through the bank’s internal HRMS (Human Resource Management System) Self-Service portal, making the process more convenient and efficient.

Until now, PNB employees were required to fill out physical forms if they wished to join or leave any Union or Association. These forms were submitted manually, and the concerned establishment section of the bank would update the membership details in HRMS. After this, the membership fee would be deducted from the employee’s salary from that very month.

This process was in line with the PD Circular letter no. 06/82, dated 06 January 1982, which permits check-off facility (automatic deduction of subscription) for unions/associations registered under the Trade Unions Act, 1926.

PNB Employees can now join Union Online

To make the process easier and more transparent, the bank has now developed an online option in HRMS. Using this new feature, employees can submit, modify, or withdraw their membership mandate for any Union or Association through the HRMS Self-Service module.

Once an employee submits their online request to join or withdraw from a Union or Association, it will need to be approved by a designated official of the concerned Union/Association. One office-bearer from each Circle (region) will be given access to the HRMS system to either approve or reject the employee’s request.

Timeline for Submitting and Approving Requests

Employees can submit or modify their mandate only once every month, and the deadline for submission is the 15th of each month. Union/Association officials must approve or reject the request by the 18th of that month. This ensures timely processing and implementation of the subscription changes in the monthly payroll.

Even with the new online facility, the existing method of submitting physical forms and having them entered into the HRMS by the establishment section through Workforce Development will still continue. Both systems will run side-by-side for now, giving employees more flexibility.

  1. There is chance that many officials would withdraw consent for membwrship. Why to finance and strengthen a syndicate, knowing. very well, they are useless.
