PNB Clerk hit by Bus in Moradabad, Luckily She Survived! Driver sent to Jail

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: On Monday evening, a serious accident took place near Chadha Cinema in the Galshaheed police station area when a school bus hit a female bank employee riding a scooter and dragged her for nearly 50 meters.

The incident occurred around 5 pm when Shreya, a clerk at the Punjab National Bank’s main branch, was returning home after work. Originally from Pant Nagar in Uttarakhand, Shreya had stopped her scooter and was talking on the phone when a school bus approached and struck her.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact caused Shreya to fall along with her scooter, after which the bus continued moving, dragging her for about 50 meters. Locals quickly intervened, surrounded the bus and caught the driver. Public handed him over to the police. Fortunately, Shreya did not come under the wheels, and bystanders managed to rescue her from beneath the vehicle.

As per reports, the bus driver was drunk and made obscene gestures towards the lady. Shreya Saxena is just 24 years old and is from Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. She got posting in Moradabad just 5 days ago. She had joined the Majhola Mandi Samiti branch of Punjab National Bank.

During lunch time, she left her branch on her scooty to go to Idgah branch. As soon as she reached near the station, the driver of a school bus (Shirdi Sai School) was blowing the horn repeatedly and loudly. When she turned around, the driver made obscene gestures at her. She stopped her scooty and scolded the driver and warned him of complaining for making obscene gestures. The bus driver started following her and hit her.

The police arrived quickly and took Shreya to the hospital for treatment. Her family and bank colleagues also rushed to the scene upon hearing about the accident.

Her hands and legs are all injured. The heel bone of her foot is missing. She has got many stitches on her body. The driver was so intoxicated that he did not regain consciousness even after 24 hours of being caught.

Police have registered a case under various sections including attempt to murder against the accused driver. On Tuesday, the police presented him in the court from where the accused has been sent to jail.

Shreya said – Instead of apologizing for this shameful act, the administration and MD of Shirdi Sai School are threatening to withdraw the case. They are threatening to face consequences if the case is not withdrawn.

Shreya said – I just want justice. That driver was drunk. Action should be taken against the school authorities who are employing such drivers. The vehicle is also not fit. The school authorities are pressurising us considering us outsiders. But we will not bow down.

SSP Satpal Antil instructed the police station to take strict action against the accused. The police have registered a case of attempted murder against the accused on behalf of the female bank employee and arrested him.

SP City Kumar Ran Vijay Singh said that a case of attempt to murder has been registered against the accused bus driver and he has been arrested and sent to jail. Police is investigating the case.
