Pension Fund (PFRDA) aims to add 1.3 million new subscribers this year

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is optimistic about achieving its annual target for adding new National Pension System (NPS) subscribers from the private sector. The goal is to enroll 13 lakh (1.3 million) new subscribers during this fiscal year.

Current Status

As of now, the number of new subscribers from the private sector stands at 6 lakh (600,000). Despite this, PFRDA Chairman Deepak Mohanty expressed hope and confidence in meeting the set target.

Fiscal Year Goal

The annual objective is to bring in 13 lakh new NPS subscribers from the private sector within this fiscal year.

Chairman’s Statement

Chairman Deepak Mohanty conveyed the regulator’s optimism and hopefulness regarding achieving the targeted number of new subscribers, despite the current count being at 6 lakh.
