The All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association (AIPNBOA), Patiala Circle, has announced that it will withdraw all extra cooperation extended to the bank, accusing the Circle Office of Patiala of ignoring serious and long-pending issues raised by employees. AIPNBOA has written a strict letter to the Circle Head citing the issues and protest.
The union said this step was taken after its earlier letter, dated November 27, 2025, received no meaningful response. According to the association, the only issue resolved by the Circle Office was the approval of leave, while all other important concerns remained untouched. The union described the Circle Office’s reply as “dismissive and one-sided,” claiming it completely ignored the grievances of officers.
The letter highlighted several major complaints. The union alleged that enquiries are being started based solely on anonymous complaints, which is an unacceptable practice. Even more worrying, the union claimed that enquiry responsibilities are being given to officers who themselves are facing complaints or investigations. This damages the fairness and credibility of the entire enquiry process and raises questions about accountability.
The union also said it had come to know that Circle Authorities are demanding CCTV footage of branches from the previous day whenever an officer goes on leave. The association argued that such actions are unnecessary, promote suspicion and mistrust, and weaken confidence in the professional conduct of field officers.
There were also reports of officers being insulted or scolded openly during meetings. The letter further alleged that Circle Office authorities made inhuman and derogatory remarks when rejecting leave requests of Branch Heads and Officers, including during phone calls.
The association had participated in several meetings with the Circle Office, hoping for solutions. However, it said that despite repeated discussions and assurances, there had been no real action, no improvement, and no meaningful response from the Circle Office. The situation has remained unchanged, which the union described as clear disregard for the officers’ genuine concerns.
The union said that it has always maintained good industrial relations and given full cooperation at every level. But due to the continuous neglect of their grievances, the association stated that it has been left with no choice but to reconsider its approach. The letter said that the persistent inaction and indifference of the Circle Office have pushed officers to a breaking point, making it impossible to continue cooperating under the current circumstances.
As a result, the association declared that it is officially withdrawing all extra cooperation with immediate effect. It warned that more phases of agitation would follow and escalate if Circle Authorities continued to remain unresponsive.
