3 newly joined Probationary Officers in Central Bank of India met with an accident in Jhabua Madhya Pradesh. As per reports, they were returning after visit to Mahakal Temple in Ujjain.
The speeding car lost control and hit a railing on a culvert near the Jio petrol pump on the Indore-Ahmedabad National Highway in Jhabua. The car flipped eight to ten times and landed on the roadside. A young woman died in the accident, while two young men were seriously injured.
The three victims of the accident were working at Central bank in Ahmedabad and were returning from a pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Baba Mahakal in Ujjain. The accident was so severe that the car was severely damaged.
The passers-by reached the spot and helped take out the victims from the car. Doctors at the hospital declared the woman in the car dead after examination.
The other two injured men are undergoing treatment, one of whom is reported to be in critical condition. Police have begun gathering information and have informed the families of the deceased and injured.
Road Accidents in India are increasing year by year. Approximately 1.7 lakh deaths occurred in 2025. Data from the Electronic Detailed Accident Report (eDAR) portal shows accidents on National Highways dropped from 1,50,958 in 2024 to 1,34,307 in 2025.
Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana contributed most to the decline in fatalities.
