Navy Sailor Arrested by CBI for Bribery in Mumbai

A medical sailor from the Indian Navy Hospital in Colaba, Mumbai, has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes. The sailor, identified as Sanju Aralikatti, was allegedly demanding money from aspiring Navy recruits in exchange for favorable medical reports.

A case was registered against Aralikatti and other unidentified public servants on November 18. The CBI alleges that Aralikatti demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant and instructed them to transfer the money through PhonePe using his phone number. The complainant paid Rs 5,000 as a partial payment.

CBI officials conducted searches at Aralikatti’s residence and seized several incriminating documents related to the medical examination of defense aspirants. Aralikatti was presented in court and remanded to police custody until November 22.
