As per the Short Notification released by NABARD, the NABARD Development Assistant Recruitment 2026 will be conducted for a total of 162 vacancies – 159 Group B Development Assistant posts and 3 Group B Development Assistant (Hindi) posts.

Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 to 35 years of age. Age relaxation is provided to candidates as per government rules.
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Age relaxations are provided for reserved category candidates as per Government of India rules (such as SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen).
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university with minimum 50% marks. For Development Assistant (Hindi), candidates must have graduated with Hindi.
NABARD Development Assistant Selection Process 2026
The selection process comprise two online examinations, out of which the marks scored in the Mains examination is considered for the final selection. LPT is a mandatory test but qualifying in nature. The selection is based on a three-staged process as follows:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
NABARD Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
The prelims exam consists of 100 questions, each worth 1 mark, divided into three sections: English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Additionally, the exam has a total time duration and includes negative marking of -0.25 for each incorrect attempt. Total time is 60 minutes. A detailed exam pattern table has been provided below:

NABARD Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2026
The Mains exam comprises an objective section and a descriptive section, with 200 questions in total for 200 marks. The time duration for the objective test is 90 minutes, and the description section is 30 minutes. A negative marking of -0.25 applies at this stage as well for any incorrect attempts.
