A routine visit to the bank turned into a shocking incident for a man in Fazilka, Punjab. Just minutes after withdrawing cash from a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch on Gaushala Road, he was robbed in a clever and unexpected way. What’s more shocking is that the incident happened inside the bank. This has raised questions about the security system of banks.
According to reports, two women allegedly targeted the man and stole around ₹20,000 by slashing his bag with a blade. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the bank, and the footage is now widely circulating on social media.

How the Theft Happened
The victim had visited the PNB branch to withdraw money. After completing his transaction, he was reportedly followed by two women. In a swift move, they allegedly cut his bag using a blade and took away the cash without immediately alerting him.
The act was so quick and carefully executed that it initially went unnoticed. However, CCTV cameras installed outside the bank recorded the entire incident.
Police Begin Investigation
Fazilka City Police Station Officer Sarwan Singh confirmed that the police received information about the theft and immediately sent a team to the bank branch on Gaushala Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that approximately ₹20,000 had been stolen. Police are now closely examining the CCTV footage to identify the accused women. Footage from nearby cameras is also being reviewed to trace their movements before and after the incident.
Officer Sarwan Singh assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.

The incident has raised concerns about safety inside banks, especially for customers withdrawing cash. Police have advised the public to remain alert and carefully secure their belongings after withdrawing money. Earlier also, several such incidents have been reported.
