Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has announced a significant increase in the basic salaries and allowances for officers and employees of key power companies in Maharashtra.

The decision to raise the basic salaries of employees by 19% and allowances by 25% was made at a meeting held at the Government Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Sunday.

Despite the proximity to the upcoming Assembly elections, sources in the power ministry emphasized that the salary hike is part of an ongoing process independent of the polls.

Union Demands:

Unions representing the three holding utilities under the energy department had consistently advocated for pay raises, allowances, and the regularization of contract workers.

Deputy CM Fadnavis confirmed the decision, stating that the salary hike and increased allowances will apply to all officers and employees of the three power companies.
