In the initial investigation, it was found that the accused woman trapped more than 10 people, including two bank officials, and took large amounts of money from them. The case was registered by Aditya Kumar Lochav, a sub-inspector who was earlier posted at the same police station. Police are likely to present the accused in court on Tuesday. Aditya, who lives in Bibinagar, Bulandshahr, married Divyanshi Chaudhary on 17 February 2024.

According to Aditya, after the wedding, Divyanshi never stayed at her in-laws’ house. She claimed she was preparing for B.Ed. and CTET at her parents’ home and kept asking him for money online. But whenever she visited her in-laws, she deleted all UPI apps from her phone. Aditya said that four months after the marriage, he went home and found Divyanshi there. When he took her phone, she panicked. All UPI apps were deleted, and slowly the truth began to come out.

Gwaltoli Inspector Santosh Gaur said that initially, there was no solid evidence against her, but after getting key proof, the police arrested her. According to the evidence, the woman had married two bank managers and two police personnel earlier. She later accused all of them and extorted money from them. DCP Central Shravan Kumar Singh confirmed her arrest and said she will be produced in court on Tuesday.

The woman would marry men following proper rituals and later file FIRs accusing them of exploitation or wrongdoing. After filing the case, she demanded money to settle the matter. On 25 November last year, Divyanshi created a big scene at the Commissioner’s office, accusing her husband Aditya of harassment and taking ₹14.50 lakh from her. She claimed he had relationships with several women and trapped young girls through social media, later blackmailing them using photos and videos. The then Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar had ordered an investigation by the ADCP (Women Crimes).

This case is a serious warning, especially for government employees such as police personnel, bank officers, PSU workers, and others in stable, well-paying jobs. People with secure jobs often become targets of such planned marital fraud. All government employees are advised to stay away from such women.
