Lokpal of India issues Tender to Purchase Seven BMW Cars Worth Rs.5 Crore

The Lokpal of India has issued an official tender to purchase seven luxury BMW 3 Series 330Li Sport (Long Wheelbase) cars, each worth around ₹70 lakh. The tender document, dated October 16, specifies that the vehicles should be white and delivered to the Lokpal office in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi within 30 days of the supply order.

The total estimated cost for all seven vehicles comes to nearly ₹5 crore. According to the tender, the selected agency will also need to provide seven days of driver training, covering both practical and theoretical aspects, to ensure safe and efficient operation of the new vehicles. The training must be completed within 15 days of delivery.

The BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase model is known for being the longest car in its segment, offering enhanced legroom and luxury for rear passengers. BMW describes it as providing “the most luxurious rear seat experience” in its class.

The Lokpal of India, established under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013, is an anti-corruption body responsible for investigating allegations against public officials. The Lokpal currently has one chairperson and six members, and its members enjoy pay and perks equivalent to Supreme Court judges.
